What is Slow Fashion?/ Meet the Designers and more.

 Welcome, yet again to another blog post from the creators of your favourite dream wardrobe.

Today we'll be talking about the term 'Slow Fashion.' You must've heard the term through our social pages or even somewhere else in general.

So what is exactly 'SLOW FASHION?

Slow Fashion is a movement seeking to “slow down” by addressing the waste during the production process of garments and promoting conscious consumption. 

In addition to buying fewer garments, proponents of slow fashion look for eco-friendly materials/ fabrics, eg: cotton, linen and any biodegradable, eco friendly textiles. Which focuses mainly on the Quality of the final product, Careful details in to designing and on creating timeless silhouettes over larger batch quantities, focusing on low waste in the production process. 

A shift from quantity to quality, both in production and consumption is what mainly slow fashion movement is all about. 

Talking about our label, presenting as a slow fashion brand, We follow the same rules as explained above. which is why we are focusing more on varying silhouette designs and less on the stock which makes most of our pieces limited in stock but definitely meeting the requirements of the buyer and most importantly serving it's best practices to the mother nature. 

Manufacturing, that respects the environment using low-waste processes and avoiding harmful chemicals or simply if we say the manufacturers supporting the slow fashion movement not only does serve the mother nature but also the human dynasty in many ways: 

•Providing workers a living wage ofcourse but most importantly it offers them to work at healthy working conditions that is oftenly missed.

•Producing collections in small batches or on a pre-order basis to avoid unsold inventory.

•An uncomplicated supply chain where raw materials and labour aren’t scattered across the globe. It uses local materials and employs local workers as much as possible.

so now you know, going a bit slow isn't so bad and the next time you go shopping not only serve your love for fashion but also nature.

"You must have heard or seen the brand name 'Amirah & Aamilah' somewhere but never did we stepped out in the open to introduce ourselves.

All we strive is to 'bring you your dream wardrobe that is sustainable, durable, affordable,comfortable and ofcourse never stopping in learning new ways to serve our mother nature. 

The label was founded in 2020 after a long time of struggles, learnings, experiences and the aspiration to become designers, have a brand and to live the dream but to have the unconditional love of our lovely customers and well wishers throughout our journey shall always be the shining highlights in our memories that we cherish and are grateful for every single day.

As kids we'd unknowingly make sketches during our free time and try make colours work. Only did we know it would become a passion and eventually a way of living in the present. 3 years later of living in our dream profession, we still are those two little girls with the same passion and the wish to create new silhouettes with love and loads more love.
